CONCEPT & PHOTOGRAPHYYana Grishchuk | Moscow, Russia

Ever since childhood, I’ve been traveling. A lot. I’ve already made several cities, and countries, home. And I do not intend to stop: I’m still planning to move elsewhere to enjoy new experiences, learn the language and explore new traditions.

Every time I travel to a new place, I check whether it fits, whether it suits me. I try it on like a new pair of jeans to see if it’s too big for me, or too small, if it’s a pretty color or style, and if the quality is good (and doesn’t cost too much!).

It has become a real habit for me: Wherever I go, I explore every inch of the streets trying to find beauty I would like to become part of. And when I find it, I take a photo in order to keep the memory close, and hold the feelings about that particular place closer. I use the colors, shapes and mood to merge with it and create harmony. Or I make a bright accent on myself, playing the role of the missing element.
